FEWS NET/Chemonics International seeks applications from qualified and experienced Ugandan professionals to fill one full-time Administrative Assitant (AA) position in Uganda. The AA will serve as a member of the administrative support team on the FEWS NET project, supporting the office manager and national technical manager to facilitate the administrative and financial operations of the FEWS NET office and, in the absence of the office manager, providing financial and clerical support services.

The minimum qualifications for the Uganda Administrative Assistant position are:

- Bachelor’s degree in administrative management, finance or other relevant field 
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English required
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office required 
- A minimum of 2 years of operations experience with strong organizational, management, and administrative skills required, experience with an international organization preferred
- Relevant experience in office administration, including basic accounting and operations management experience
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to be a strong team player
- Present a professional demeanor and exercise professional judgment
- Ability to prioritize work assignments to foster timely work completion
- Excellent and demonstrated organizational skills
- Ability to perform well with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate leadership, integrity and versatility.

East Africa | Due: 01/18/19

FEWS NET/Chemonics International seeks applications from qualified and experienced East African professionals to fill one full-time Regional Field Accountant (RFA) position in East Africa. The RFA will establish and maintain uniformity and accuracy in field accounting procedures across the seven FEWS NET offices in East Africa (Uganda, Yemen, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia and the Kenya/Regional office) to ensure that all field accounting practices adhere to USAID and Chemonics regulations and policies.

The minimum qualifications for the East Africa RFA position are:
- Masters or other advanced degree in accounting or related field; a Bachelor degree and 5+ additional years of accounting experience can be considered in lieu of a Masters
- At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting
- Prior knowledge of accounting systems (ABACUS, QuickBooks a plus)
- Experience performing accounting audits or reviews
- Fluency in both French and English required
- Knowledge of USAID and its operations preferred

The Regional Field Accountant will be based in the FEWS NET East Africa regional office located in Nairobi and is open to all qualified Kenyan citizens. The RFA will establish and maintain uniformity and accuracy in field accounting procedures across the five FEWS NET WEST offices in West Africa (Niger, Chad, Mali, Chad, Nigeria and the Senegal/Regional office to ensure that all field accounting practices adhere to USAID and Chemonics regulations and policies. 

The minimum qualifications for the West Africa RFA position are:
- Masters or other advanced degree in accounting or related field; a Bachelor degree and 5+ additional years of accounting experience can be considered in lieu of a Masters
- At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting

Washington D.C. | Due: 01/18/19

FEWS NET/Chemonics International is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party—Analysis to serve member of the FEWS NET Senior Management Team and work closely with its other two members (COP, DCOP/Programs) to facilitate implementation of the FEWS NET activity and to monitor activity performance towards contract, work plan, and other benchmarks. 

The main responsibilities of this position will broadly include:
- Taking a primary leadership role on the FEWS NET activity, including through ensuring strategic innovation and collaboration within and among key analysis sectors (e.g., Decision Support, Markets and Trade, Livelihoods, Nutrition, Agroclimatology, Network Development, Knowledge Management, and Learning)
- Working closely with FEWS NET Technical Advisors and field staff to prioritize and implement activities (e.g., knowledge base activities, ad hoc assessments)
- Facilitating  collaborative and productive relationships with FEWS NET implementing partners, including USGS, NOAA, NASA, USDA, and Kimetrica
- Leading FEWS NET’s technical engagement with the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, and represents FEWS NET at technical fora, as required

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
- Authorization to work in the United States required
- Fluency in English required, French and/or Spanish language proficiency desired
- An advanced university degree (e.g., Masters/PhD) in a field closely related to food security (e.g., agricultural economics, early warning, economics, emergency response, food security assessment, geography, public-sector management, planning, public policy, public health, remote sensing, rural development, or other relevant field) required.  
- OR Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, plus significant, directly-related professional experience
- More than five years of specialized work experience, at least two of which were located abroad, working in food security-related activities (e.g., emergency and/or development programming, economic and/or social development, urban and/or rural development) required
- At least two years of experience managing technicians in a food security-related field required, experience managing multi-cultural teams desired
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity

This is a full-time position based in the FEWS NET Home Office in Washington, DC. The Deputy Chief of Party—Analysis will work under the direct supervision of the FEWS NET Chief of Party, within the Senior
Management Team. S/he will undertake regular international and domestic travel to provide direction
and support to FEWS NET staff.
